4th September 2023, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso: The African Union CIEFFA and ImpactHER are thrilled to commence the second cohort of their Online Capacity Building Training today. Following a successful inaugural cohort in July 2023, the program received 35,902 applications, for the program themed “Digital Skills for All: Bridging the Gender Gap in STEAM, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship.” Upon careful review, 7,543 candidates were selected. Intended to upskill women, girls, and youths with STEAM, digital and financial literacy, and entrepreneurial skills, the program highlights gender-responsive education’s significance, recognizing the challenges young women encounter in these sectors. This collaboration underscores the commitment to gender-inclusive education across Africa and will be delivered in French, English, and Portuguese.

Efe Ukala, ImpactHER’s Founder, remarked at the launch, “Education is empowerment’s foundation. Together with the AU CIEFFA, we are trailblazing towards gender parity in education and business. Enhancing digital prowess and financial acumen lays the groundwork for consistent economic growth and a sustainable future.”

The program, spanning over three consecutive months beginning September, promises an immersive, interactive learning experience. Participants can anticipate acquiring pivotal digital, entrepreneurial, and financial skills. They will be awarded certificates upon program completion.

Further, attendees will access the expansive networks of both collaborating organizations, offering potential collaborations, mentorships, and professional advancements. Additionally, their participation augments their chances of being chosen for full-fledged activities sponsored by the African Union CIEFFA.

This transformative program is financially sponsored by ImpactHER, ensuring cost-free access for participants. Prioritizing top-notch education, the curriculum is tailored for diverse learning preferences and backgrounds.
