Kathryn A. Broderick Launches New Institute Focused on Empowering Creativity in the Era of Corporate Burnout

June 23 01:00 2022
Glasswood Creative Institute offers classes in creative writing, professional development and more to nourish learners’ creativity

Kathryn A. Broderick, critically acclaimed poet and author of the award-winning young adult novel Ghost Flower, has announced that she will also be launching a new, innovative institute offering in-person and online classes. She will be leveraging over a decade in higher education to deliver world-class courses to learners of all ages.

Glasswood Creative Institute specializes in providing access to high-quality classes at pocket-friendly prices—no matter where the learner is in their creative journey.

Expanding access to meaningful opportunities

Inspired by her own career pivot from a prestigious corporate law position to pursue international scholarship and creative writing—with Gorgon Crown, her second novel launching this June—Broderick seeks to increase accessibility to the same high-quality creative enrichment opportunities she experienced while living in New York City.

“Neighborhoods within my local community rank as some of the worst in the country for opportunities—including developmental experiences, like the type of classes and networking offered by Glasswood. I realized I was in a unique position to help address this critical gap,” Broderick said.

“These past few years have taken a toll on us globally. But we cannot forget to nourish all that is beautiful within ourselves and our experiences. My hope is that Glasswood will be that spark of encouragement—that friendly nudge—to help people of all levels continue on their creative path,” she continued.

Personalized creative classes for learners of all ages

Through Glasswood, Broderick will offer one-day intensives and four-week workshops in creative writing, visual arts, culture, languages, and professional development. These creative classes will feature dedicated instructors and small course sizes, giving learners a place to develop their skills and build a meaningful, supportive creative network. Courses are designed to maximize accessibility, interactive participation and personalized feedback.

Glasswood Creative Institute measures it success by its students’ success—whether that’s progressing on a path to publication, conquering a lifelong fear of public speaking, or unlocking a new talent. Glasswood seeks to provide the tools and techniques to allow learners to explore diverse ideas and change the world.
