Hangzhou holds first forum on brain-machine intelligence

The first Westlake Brain-Machine Intelligence Industry Forum was held in Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province, on Dec 20.

The forum brought together experts and delegates from companies and investment institutions to discuss the future development of the emerging industry.

Wang Yueming, deputy director of the National Frontier Center of Brain Science and Brain-Machine Integration, briefed attendees on the new discipline’s current state of development as well as the achievements the center has made in the field.

A number of business delegates also presented their latest research findings and products in the field of brain-machine intelligence to attendees in order to attract investment.

At the forum, a special fund dedicated to financing brain-machine intelligence projects was founded, and the nation’s first brain-intelligence industrial park was unveiled in Hangzhou.

The industrial park is adjacent to Zhejiang University, one of the most prestigious universities in China, and Westlake University, which is currently under construction.

The park plans to attract companies focusing on the research of brain-machine intelligence.
